Wisdom comes with age. I like to think that my friendships are the wisdom I have gathered. After all, they are who I turn to when I need wisdom. I love my friends, especially my women friends. They are then soft place where you fall. Nothing compares to having a bunch of women friends. I call them a ‘bunch’ precisely because they are like a bunch of mixed country flowers. Each so individual and different, yet gathering together and blending in such a natural and fitting way. Women friends always seem to fit together, making room for each other. As if each one has been handpicked, like a chosen flower. Individuals with qualities that they generously share with one another. Holding onto each other, clinging together through stormy seas. Leaning on each other and picking one another up, is a ‘Women Thing’. Not letting go, is a ‘Women Thing’. Finding strength in their togetherness. Walking rough roads together. True friends always tell you the truth in a loving, non judgmental way. They fight with you, laugh with you and cry with you. They are always there, even when they don’t see or hear from you for ages. True friendship can be rekindled at any time because true friendship is forever. Friends feel for you, forgive you and love you no matter what. True friends will give you their hearts and their secrets, expecting you to keep them safe. A true friend will forever guard shared confidences and treasured moments. If it is special to you, it will be special to her. She understands the way you feel. True friends will raise an army for you. Friends add value to your life. In that moment where you feel as if life is not worth it, think about your friends. See their faces, hear the laughter and remember. Focus for a moment, on those wonderful friendships and their worth. No price can be set to their value. If you have been blessed with friends like I have, who love to love, to live, laugh, work and play, then you have treasure my friend. Know that you will not have lived in vain. You have been given a gift. Friends, sisters, mothers, aunts, cousins, friendship cannot be erased. I salute all those who are friends and say, your value is unlimited, my friends.
