Today...

Today, I heard someone liken God to being like the sun. At certain times of the day, perhaps evening, you could not always see it so well and you would look and question whether it was the sun or the moon? Even blind people know when the sun is shining. As I heard these words I saw in my spirit, the suns rays traveling across the earth. As I watched I saw they brought light. The light dispelled all darkness and one could see everything more clearly. When you see more clearly, you understand more clearly. The path to follow becomes clear. You just need to keep walking and trusting that he is guiding your paths, because he is! Have faith and lookout for his direction. He can talk and you can hear. Communication is not a problem for God. Walk by faith.

The first thing you feel from the sun is warmth. When you experience warmth from another you feel cared for and sense that your best interest is their priority. God was speaking to me about his nature. The way he is. The way he expresses himself through us. It's really simple, light and warmth. When people approach us the first things they should see or experience from us are light and warmth. I recall sharing with a person and shedding light on an issue. I feel sure that they felt my warmth because I did care and I did have their interest at heart. What really shook me in the core of myself was that there are people in our lives, even those we call our 'loved ones' who do not experience light and warmth from us. Familiarity. Some people we treat harshly. It's not that we are not aware of it, we even I justify it, because of the way they treat us or because of indifference. It's wrong, it's got to stop! God wants to show himself through each one of us. God was talking to me about something that seemed completely unrelated to the prayer request I had put it. Why was he answering me in this manner? Could it be that my behavior had something to do with receiving my blessings or answers. Yes of course it does. God wants to show up and we do not want to allow him to. We block our blessings and our answers to prayer if we block God. I saw myself as a rag doll, being folded up and put in a plastic cover and packed away. We need to pack ourselves away. All those old ways and habits, behaviors that we do every day, put them away. Those people who say I know her, this is what she will do, or this is what she will say, must not say that anymore. They will say, she has changed, she is different. We must allow God control, not just in church. All must experience the light and warmth.

In that moment I began to, and I say only began because it is only the beginning of realizing the impact that having God in my life and in me is able to have on my life and the lives of others. The enormous impact has unlimited possibilities. Incredible and amazing benefits. Continuous exposure to sunlight causes what or who is hidden or withdrawn to come out into the light into the warmth. Things that seem to be dead and lifeless can become resuscitated when exposed to the sunlight. We can continue to explore this and we will find unlimited possibilities. If we would only allow him to be God. Our blessings and answers to prayers are in him. Allow him to come out.

I began to cry and to repent and I made a decision to change immediately. To allow God to truly be God in me. Today would be different. The first things I saw as I moved around were the same things I complained about everyday. I immediately looked away. I usually begin my day with issuing orders. Not today. Today I would not do it. Perhaps I would never have to do it again. If I did have to, I know that I would do it differently. Not today. Today I would let God do something for me. Remember it's really simple, light and warmth and don't let your mouth become your greatest problem. As He Is, So am I in this World. 1 John 4:16-17
