When
I talk about the finish line here I do not mean you have come to the
end of your race of life but rather a particular part of your journey
or season in Christ.
I
saw myself standing at the 'finish line' of a race, encouraging
others to the end and welcoming some across. It suddenly dawned on me
that I was standing on the other side of the 'finish line' which
meant I'd crossed over.
I
understood that the Lord was saying we are at the 'finish line' or
completion of this part of our journey. Some have crossed over while
others are coming up to it.
INDIVIDUALS
Some
have been in fiery trials for a long season which will now come to an
end as we let go. Not every battle is ours and we have a tendency to
take on far too many.
Others
have been in training, especially those among us who are prophets who
train for about twenty years and are sometimes harshly tested! God
tests all HIS prophets, but HE restores! You are now crossing the
finish line, don't give up, CROSSOVER!
The
'finish line' is now in sight and once you cross over the burden you
have been carrying will be lifted off you. The restrictions that once
held you will be removed and your 'confinement' will be ended. Things
are about to open up for you. You have to understand that the place
of 'confinement' is somewhere you have been held or kept for a time.
It is not necessarily something you can break out of but a place of
'waiting.' In the 'waiting' we develop and we would be
under-developed if we come out too soon.
It
is vitally important to keep your eyes fixed and focused on the
future and not to look to the past.
Isaiah
43:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
18
“Do
not remember the former things,
Nor
consider the things of old.
Isaiah
43:18-21 The Message (MSG)
16-21
This is what God says,
the
God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who
carves a path through pounding waves,
The
God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
they
lie down and then can’t
get up;
they’re
snuffed out like so many candles:
“Forget
about what’s
happened;
don’t
keep going over old history.
Be
alert, be present. I’m
about to do something brand-new.
It’s
bursting out! Don’t
you see it?
There
it is! I’m
making a road through the desert,
rivers
in the badlands.
Wild
animals will say ‘Thank
you!’
—the
coyotes and the buzzards—
Because
I provided water in the desert,
rivers
through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking
water for the people I chose,
the
people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise
me.
REWARD
When
we reach the finish line of a race there is always a reward. There is
nothing that can compare with the exhilaration of knowing that you
have managed to reach a particular milestone or goal. There is a
fullness of soul that takes place when we see the manifestation of
our accomplishment, for there is always Demonstration. Signs and
wonders always follow us, they do not lead.
So
rewards come in many different forms but it is so much better to
remain focused on the spiritual reward than the natural, for the
spiritual memory will remain forever imprinted in your soul while the
natural is only temporary.
REST
& RECOVER
When
you reach the finish line you always enter a period of rest and
recovery in specific areas of your life. This does not mean you quit.
All runners will go into the 'Tent' at a big race where they are
attended to for injuries and recovery. A Tent is a picture of the
rest and dwelling place of the Lord. This is a place we are called to
enter by faith, regardless of circumstances or whatever battles are
raging around us.
Sometimes
we can clearly see numerous fires that are burning around us. We must
sink back into that couch, that place of rest while the fires burn,
since it is clear that we are not equipped to put these all out! Most
fires will burn out by themselves if we leave them to the
'out-working of God'. This is part of WAITING upon the Lord and when
we look again the space on the couch will no longer be occupied by a
human form but that of an EAGLE, since they always soar above the
storm.
Hebrews
4 New International Version (NIV)
4
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let
us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2
For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they
did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they
did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a] 3 Now we who have
believed enter that rest,...
SCALES
I
hear “Bring out the Scales and Weigh”
It
is time to weigh up where you have come to, the decisions you have
made and strategies you previously implemented. Look at the whole
picture, Past. Present and Future. Consider all and Weigh! Asses,
Trim and Lengthen. Here I see the hand with a scissors cutting off
some dead weight while adding to other. This is almost like bringing
an old cushion back to life by refilling it and plumping it up.
So
your focus does not leave the plans of the Father for us, but
sometimes we shift our focus a little more intensely on areas that
really require attention. These may be overlooked or neglected, while
our Father wants them brought back to life. We begin by speaking life
into these and changing our behaviour. Walk
by the spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh!
This
can be difficult for us, depending on the situation or circumstances
we know require more attention during this season. We are being
redirected. If we continue and persevere, in just a short while we
will see the signs that follow.
DISCERNING
YOUR SEASON
It is so important to discern your season and
where your focus should be at this time. We have to gain a momentum
in our lives. If you tune in and listen with your spiritual ears you
will begin to hear the sound of your life flow. Discerning the rhythm
is so vitally important since there are so many areas that affect us
and we can clearly hear which are out of tune. We set the tone for
the rhythm and flow since we can choose where and in what quantity we
enter in or remain out. When the momentum in your tune flows then you
will have the correct measure, so be sure to connect and LISTEN!
When
you know you have crossed over into your promised land do you just
sit and wait?
Take
God at HIS word. Confirmation will follow. Move into what God has
promised. Act out your Faith.. That word spoken over you will not
come to pass if you do not walk it out. If you were not required to
partner with God then there would be no need for HIM to tell you
anything!
It
is better to do something than do nothing at all! If we make
mistakes, HE is able to turn all our mistakes around. Be an
Adventurer! Stop waiting on the shoreline, walk on the water!
Anything Could Happen and it WILL!
Proverbs
16:3 New International Version (NIV)
3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and
he will establish your plans.
